Sewing 101 takes you back to the basics, guiding you step-by-step through all the essentials to make learning to sew fun, rewarding, and inspiring. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone needing a refresher, this course will teach you how to confidently use any sewing machine and create a hooded sweatshirt from a commercial pattern! WHAT YOU'LL LEARN - Sewing terminology and essential equipment - How to read commercial pattern - Selecting the right fabric for garments - Putting in a drawstring - Identifying fabric grainlines - Beginner stitches and seaman PREREQUISITE: None—just come willing to learn COURSE DETAILS Format: In-person classes Duration: 2 hours once a week for 5 weeks 1:30PM - 3PM Supplies: - All supplies are provided. -FABRIC IS INCLUDED, but you’re welcome to bring your own! Yardage and fabric type requirements will be shared on day one. - Sewing patterns are included in the class price.
