Service Description Take your sewing skills to the next level! In this intermediate class, you'll expand on the fundamentals learned in Sewing 101 by constructing a simple yet stylish garment using a commercial pattern. This course focuses on key garment construction techniques, helping you gain confidence in sewing clothing that fits well and looks professionally made. Perfect for those who have completed Sewing 101 or have basic sewing experience! WHAT YOU’LL LEARN ✔️ How to adjust commercial patterns for a better fit ✔️ Interfacing and stabilizing fabric for structure ✔️ How to sew darts, pleats, and gathers ✔️ Installing zippers and closures (invisible, centered, or lapped) ✔️ Constructing sleeves and setting in armholes ✔️ Finishing techniques: hemming, seam finishes, and topstitching PROJECT - You’ll sew a basic blouse or shirt (woven fabric) OR a **simple dress**, allowing you to practice fit adjustments, shaping techniques, and finishing details. PREREQUISITE - Completion of Sewing 101 or equivalent basic sewing experience. COURSE DETAILS 📍 Format: In-person classes ⏳ Duration: 2 hours once a week for 6 weeks (6 PM - 8 PM) 🧵 Supplies: - Patterns and fabric suggestions will be provided on the first day. - Students are encouraged to bring their own fabric to personalize their project.
