The Backstory: My name is Nerissia, and I’m the founder of SiaDezigns and Workroom. My sewing journey started 20 years ago in Cameroon, mending clothes as a kid. That childhood necessity turned into a lifelong passion, leading me from a technical high school to a degree from Philadelphia University and a career as a professional patternmaker.

When COVID-19 hit, I started teaching mask-making, and I realized how much people craved hands-on skills. After a few years of "night-shift hustling" to fund the dream and a lot of planning with the SBA, I opened this studio in 2024.

We’ve since taught everyone from 8-year-old beginners to 70-year-old enthusiasts. My mission is simple: high-quality fashion and sewing education for everyone. I’m so glad you’re here!
